The fields were green, and the trees were tall and full of life. The air around the lair was almost perfect, with just the right amount of warmth. High above the clouds was a rather large creature, soaring and tearing through the white puffs, almost effortlessly. It was an ancient Dragon. Black as the night when it fell upon this territory, the massive machine-like beast dove lower, towards the ground. Growling to himself as his eyes searched the grounds below, the fiend continued to move around the quiet forests, searching for something to do.

Down below in the forests, were it was shaded from the sun just letting it filter through the leaves of the tree tops. There was no path, just the grass and other plant life that grew there and it as calm. Bare feet stepped in the grass and over whatever would be in the way of their direction as the pale owner of them moved forward. Now this creature could be flying with wings that faded from black to white, it could be doing it with ease, but why risk the chance of being seen oh so easily, when there was places to hide down here? Long white hair was tied up in a loosely and eyes just scanned the area as he walked.

The dragon almost halted in the air when something caught his eye. Someone was walking down below him, someone with two different wings. The massive dragon let out a nasty howl, one that slammed into the grounding below, and rumbled everything from beneath him. The massive dragon landed with a huge WHOOMPH! - right in front of the one who had caught his eyes. He was - well. The size of a dragon. So. HUGE. His massive head leaned down and he snuffed the strange boy that had been there, not caring if he startled him to death. He was curious.

At the sound of the massive howl, Ryou stopped and just froze to keep his balance, covering his ears before he lifted his head to see what had done it. Why he was so startled or surprised, when it should have been somewhat obvious to hat could have made that noise was even beyond him. He stood there with his red and blue eyes wide, looking at the massive creature who just landed out of nowhere right in front of him. he stared back as he was snuffed and just hoped in his mind that he wasn't suddenly going to be eaten.

Dragons were rare in these parts, and normally as long as you stuck close by the Kingdoms, you were safe. But Ryou was surely not around any of them, he'd actually wandered into the Badlands, where nothing but a crumbling Castle stood at the end of a dead clearing, in the forest. Why this dragon had picked such a place for a home went unknown, but it was surely more than just a home to him.

The beast in black scale shook his head, and began to shrink in size just a bit. He was now no larger than a huge horse, and curiously eyed the one brave enough to come here. Smirking, if a dragon could, he allowed the lad to check him out, as he was curious of the boy himself.

Ryou wasn't the best at sticking to the safe areas, or the areas where it would be best to travel, his curiosity always led him places he shouldn't. Though he didn't mind this fact... most of the time anyways. The young boy didn't specifically have a home per say, he mostly just slept or stayed wherever he wanted to that night, until he got bored or danger came along.

He stared as the dragon shrank in size and calmed down enough to be able to take a step forward cautiously, wanting to get a better look at the creature in front of him. He bit the inside of his lip as he stepped forward, feet bare, and then dared to take another step, close to the dragon one again.

The fact alone that the boy was brave enough to come near the dragon had meant something. The beast nuzzled the side of the kid's face, while smelling him, and gathering any information he could of him. Just by the scent he could smell a bit of fear, but he could also sense that the kid was just as curious as he was. Growling, he decided to lower his head, to see just how brave one would be. Perhaps riding a dragon was something the kid had dreamed of. And perhaps, since the dragon was so old, and so alone, that he had wanted someone to kill his time with...

He froze for a moment as the other nuzzled at his face, but was quickly relaxed again as he realized it was just something harmless that it was doing. The way the scales on the others face felt, was interesting, but he liked them, he had never actually felt a dragon before...
He looked as the dragon lowered it's head, and he moved to run his hand back along the scales of it, petting it, moving down to the body and biting his lip, wondering. Lifting his hand again, he softly dragged it along one of it's wings, before stepping up close to him, tempted to climb on. It took some hesitation, but soon he was carefully climbing on top.

The dragon snuffed and almost laughed (if one could have) as the kid climbed up on him. He flared out his wings, and adjusted them according to the winds that were slowly picking up within the area. With one massive, swift and powerful motion, the dragon leaped into the air, and forced his wings down, and then up immediately after, and began to ascend. As they spiraled through the air upwards, the beast let out a proud howl, his tail wavering on behind him as he spun out and leveled off. Gliding through the clouds, the kid would be able to see that he was truly miles about the entire territory that that'd just been inside.

Though he had flown before, he had never ridden anything, much less had he ever ridden a dragon. He hung on tightly, making sure his wings were tightly folded back. If they weren't he had a feeling they would get caught n the wind and he's end up getting pulled off. Looking around, it was different from flying on your own when you had to pay attention to everything that was happening around you so you didn't crash, he could just relax.

The dragon howled and adjusted his wings again, taking them higher, and higher still. The sunset was immaculate, and so was everything it seemed to touch. There was nothing more true, then the fact that Dragon-Riding was an honor, but it was also a Sin. Because those who rode in one dragons, were usually taken down by one of the Kingdoms. It would be a dangerous ordeal, once Ryou had to go back home. Though the dragon, would surely have no issue doing some damage to protect his new friend....

Ryou wasn't worried about the dangers of doing this, why be worried when he had no home. He wasn't sure what he would do once he had to leave, but it most certainly wouldn't be anywhere populated, or somewhere where anyone could see him.. He'd most likely just go find the next safest and warmest place he could find, and stay there. And honestly, it saddened him, the thought that he would have to be alone again, he didn't think that he would get to stick around with the dragon after this, despite him wanting to... Thinking that this was just going to be a one life time thing...

The dragon seemed to slowly get bored of the air, and as he changed directions and went opposite the direction of the sun, he began to head for the mountains. The creature was surely hungry, and old, and rather tired. But for now, he just wanted to relax and maybe sleep. He decided that he would take the strange boy with him, keeping him as a pet or something.

Flaring out his powerful wings over the edge of a cliff, he reached out with his four claws, and grabbed onto the cliff-side, and pulled himself up it. His large tail flicked back and fourth, sending him forwards, and then he folded his wings and began to walk into a dark and eerie ass cavern.

He hung on tighter as the dragon landed, though he was slightly confused as to why the creature would bring him along to the cave of what he could only assume the other lived it. Though at the same time he was rather glad that he was taken along, glad to have been kept with him. he stayed on top of him, for two reasons, one, he didn't feel like getting off of a moving dragon with the almost certainty that he would end up on his face. Two, it was dark. Very dark. He didn't like that very much and decided to just stay where he was, gripping at the other as they entered the cavern.

Ryou didn't really know it, but dragons were always something before they were dragons. Well, not all of them, but several of them only wore the draconian outlook, as a curse of sorts. This dragon, was one of them. He wasn't a true dragon, but that was a secret that no one else knew of.

As they neared the cavern, the dragon began to lower his head, indicating that the boy could get off of him now. Here was nothing but a giant open space, where a campfire strangely sat with some fish on it. How had it gotten there? Surely a dragon didn't need this... But there it was anyhow.

Once he was able to see, and it was indicated he was able to get off, he climbed off and looked around the open space and tilted his head at the fire. He blinked and walked over to it, tilting his head and staring at it. Was there another person here who the dragon knew?.. or was this just here on accident and another person was about to get very freaked out?..
He shrugged and turned to look back at the dragon, who he really only thought as that, since he really had very limited knowledge on them if any at all.

The Dragon stood up on his hind legs, and shadows slowly started to whirl around him and move like fire over his body. A mini tornado surrounded him, spinning all about him and changing him. Before the other kid could say anything, there, standing before him - was another male. This one wearing nothing but a black ripped sash around his waist. He was taller, built like a dragon, and had strange glowing blue hair that stood up on end. His eyes were some radiant, devious blue, and his teeth were sharp too.

The other male looked down at his hands, that ended in strange black claws. From behind him was still his dragon's tail, something that never truly went away. He growled and looked over at the snowy-haired boy, and tilted his head. He couldn't remember how to speak humanish.

Ryou, was shocked to say the least. His mouth was hanging open as he witnessed the transformation take place in front of his eyes, and then he saw the male, and he despite being confused, at least this answered the "why was there fish and a fire in the middle of a cave" question. He blinked and shut his mouth quickly once he realized what he had been doing, but still stared, still in shock by what he just saw.

He bit his lip and stepped forward "Uhh,.. " was the only response he had. The other male was sexy though, but this still confused him.

The dragon, who was not a dragon, stood there rather confused himself. Why he'd trusted this other he had no idea, perhaps something just told him to do it. Or maybe he knew that if the boy started shit, he could just pull him apart and pick his bones in his dragon form. Whatever the case, it had happened, and now, a very sexy being stood before the lad, rubbing his eyes.

The other male hissed, and bared his fangs, pointed ears sliding out from the male's hair. He growled to himself and went over to the campfire, and snatched some fish from it and ate it. He ate it like a rabid dog that was starved or something. Perhaps this was just the ways of a dragon. The male then held out another fish to the boy, and looked upon him with his piercing blue eyes.

"Mmm....ssssssssss." Was about all the other said, hissing and watching the boy come closer.

Well, there was obviously things that Ryou needed to learn, but the other male didn't seem to ant to hurt him, so he kept his outside calmed and just watched for a few moments. He watched him instantly move over to the fish and start to tear into it, he laughed quietly at how hungry the other seemed to be.

When the other fish was handed to him, he took it with little hesitation, and ripped a piece away from it, before putting it into his mouth and chewing silently, now standing beside him. He looked up at the new face that now took the others form and tilted his head and examined it, he liked it. He wondered why the other just spoke in growls and hisses, had he been a dragon for to long, so he had forgotten? . "Thank you.." He replied anyways.

The other male watched the other as he spoke, and tried to remember how to do the same thing. Growling in frustration, he used his index claw on his right hand to carve something into the cavern flooring.

That's what it said. The male didn't know if this meant anything to the other, but he knew that to be his name. He pointed to the writing, which was drawn shitty as fuck, and then pointed to his chest, to symbolize that it was indeed his name. He growled and flexed his ears upright, waiting for the other to reply.

He looked down at the flooring and stared, making out the lettering that was there before him and was able to read it out. Whispering it quietly to himself, something tugged in his memory. Why did it do that?...

He looked up at the other and tilted his head before kneeling down and doing the same thing with his own name, but he also spoke it. He did both for the chance that Melvin could read better than speak or recognize languages at the moment. "Ryou. " he said and smiled up at him, indicating that Ryou, was himself.

"Ryou." Melvin echoed the term, that the other had said. He looked at his name and grinned proudly. "Melvin." He licked over his fangs, and then bit into another fish, his tail wagging somewhat behind him. It had been years since he'd spoken aloud aside from when he was in his dragon form. He smirked and licked the edge of the stick, then hissed slowly.

Grinning a few moments later after he'd eaten, the male wandered over to where he normally slept, alongside the fire. He laid on his stomach and flicked his tail behind him, thinking to himself in flashes, without words usually.

Ryou smiled as the other spoke and went back to ripping off pieces of his own fish and chewing on it quietly.This was interesting to say the least, but he liked it. Sitting down on the dirt floor he let his wings stretch out a bit before bringing them back in and finishing up his meal silently.

This place was warmer than his usual nights where he usually just passed out, to tired to even attempt making any sort of fire or warmth for himself.

Melvin was the first of the two, to pass out. He rolled over onto his side and coiled his tail over and around him, growling and snarling in his sleep. It was rather obvious that the only things he really dreamed about was being a dragon, and it might have seemed strange to the other to see another being act like this, but who knew at this point.

Life being a dragon was great, but at times it got lonely. This male had known almost nothing of another around, especially since he pretty much out-lived anyone he crossed paths with. He knew that there were tons of other strange beings out there, but being a dragon was a serious Sin, and he tended to avoid all people, at all costs. This boy though, one who had been walking by himself, had interested him, for reasons he didn't even know. Then again, a dragon always knew who to trust, and who to leave a stray.
